2024

• Early October - statutory key stage 2 (KS2) teacher assessment guidance 2025 and optional key stage 1 teacher assessment guidance 2025 published
• Monday 14 October - academies and independent schools monitoring and moderation local authority nomination form opens on the PAG
• Monday 4 November to Friday 15 November - KS2 standardisation exercise 1 completion window
• Monday 18 November - KS2 standardisation exercise 1 commentaries available on the PAG
• Friday 22 November - deadline for returning pool and lead moderators’ responses for exercise 1
• Friday 6 December - deadline for independent schools to nominate their local authority for monitoring and moderation agreement
   

  2025

• Friday 10 January - deadline for academies to nominate their local authority for monitoring and moderation agreement
• Monday 6 January to Friday 17th January - KS2 standardisation exercise 2 completion window
• Monday 20 January - KS2 standardisation exercise 2 commentaries available on the PAG
• Friday 24 January - deadline for returning pool and lead moderators’ responses for exercise 2
• Tuesday 21 to Friday 31 January - local authorities to check list of monitoring and moderation agreements provided by STA
• Monday 10 February to Friday 21 February - KS2 standardisation exercise 3 completion window
• Monday 24 February - KS2 standardisation exercise 3 commentaries available on the PAG
• Friday 28 February - deadline for returning pool and lead moderators’ responses for exercise 3
• Friday 16 May - local authorities begin informing schools if they will receive an external moderation visit for teacher assessment
• Monday 19 May - ‘Submit TA data’ form available on the PAG
• Monday 2 June to Friday 27 June - local authorities undertake external moderation of KS2 English writing teacher assessment
• Friday 22 August - deadline for local authorities to confirm details of their moderation manager and strategic leads for the academic year 2025 to 2026
