Update on Schools officer and PSHE offering
Many thanks for bearing with us since PC Angela Ferrucci has left the team. Hopefully, Angela’s replacements in PC Jake Hynard and PC Ellena Savage have proven useful as an interim measure.
Unfortunately, Angela’s permanent replacement - PC Amy Sanderson, is currently off sick and not expected back to work until at least after Christmas.
So that you all still have a police contact until Amy’s return, I have asked the Problem Solving Team if they can assign a number of schools to each of them. Once the new school term starts, I will ask them to contact you all individually. If you need to get hold of an officer prior to contact, then please email: RBWM_PST@thamesvalley.police.uk (please note the underscore in between RBWM and PST.)
Furthermore, I understand Angela previously offered a Police input into the PSHE lessons around Drugs/Violence and Child Criminal Exploitation. Unfortunately, none of the Problem Solving Team will be able to offer this. However, I have spoken with Angela, and schools should still be able to deliver all three parts of the PSHE programme, as lesson 2 has an alternative for teachers to use when police are not available.
I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, - once Amy returns, she is trained in delivering the PSHE lessons, and we can resume this offering.
I hope you all had a good summer, a restful break, and we look forward to working with you in the year ahead.
