DfE confirms plans to permanently remove RAAC from affected schools and colleges

The Government has announced that all schools and colleges affected by reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) will receive funding to permanently remove it from the premises.

Of the 234 sites with confirmed cases, 119 will be rebuilt or refurbished through the School Rebuild Programme, 110 will receive grants for smaller-scale projects, and five will have alternative arrangements in place. The Department for Education (DfE) is directly communicating with those responsible for affected buildings to confirm plans.
