The Esteem Project Esteem is a place where you are made to feel comfortable and are given the opportunity to make new friends. You get to try new things, which can help to boost your self confidence. The aim of the group is to bring young people together from across the area and different schools and colleges giving you the chance to make friends in a new setting. Members of the group plan the sessions with support from staff to ensure the activities on offer are of interest to you. There are junior sessions for 8 to 13 year olds and senior sessions for 13 to 19 year olds. Tuesdays at Windsor Family Hub, Alma Road: Junior session 6 to 7.30pm and Senior session 7.30pm to 9pm Wednesdays at Riverside Family Hub, Maidenhead: Junior session 4.30 to 6pm and Senior session 6.30pm to 8pm This group is open to young people with additional needs who are able to manage in a mainstream youth club and do not require one to one support. A referral needs to be completed prior to attendance. Email: Familyhubs@achievingforchildren.org.uk

Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding Children Domestic abuse is a safeguarding issue that can have a profound impact on children and young people. Under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, children who see, hear, or experience the effects of domestic abuse are recognised as victims in their own right. Exposure to abuse can affect their safety, emotional wellbeing, development, and ability to engage in education. It is vital that professionals remain alert to the signs and respond early to protect and support children. For further information, guidance, and local support services, please visit the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Domestic Abuse webpages.
