Information for schools: Phone-free schools: strengthened guidance published |
|
The Education Secretary has written to schools about our strengthened mobile phones guidance in schools. The guidance states that schools should be phone-free environments for the entire school day, including breaktimes and lunchtimes. For the first time, Ofsted will examine both mobile phone policies and their application when judging behaviour during inspections, and attendance and Behaviour Hub lead schools will support settings needing additional help with evidence-based approaches. A national consultation on children's use of technology will launch shortly, and education professionals are encouraged to contribute. |
