Statistics on the levels of overall, authorised and unauthorised absence in state-funded schools were published by the Department this week. In 2024/25, the overall absence rate was 6.78%, down from 7.15% in 2023/24 but still above the pre-pandemic level of 4.73% in 2018/19.
