The Department for Education has published the draft Keeping Children Safe in Education
(KCSiE) 2026 for consultation, ahead of planned implementation from September 2026. The
The proposed revisions include updated terminology and clarify safeguarding definitions, alongside a
Stronger emphasis on early help, multi-agency working, and universal community-based support.
The consultation remains open until Wednesday 22nd April 2026.
