English as an additional language (EAL)
The recent EAL cluster meeting held on 22 October and led by our Specialist Advisory Teachers service, provided attendees with key information on:
- EAL provision, Ofsted inspection focus on EAL, translation tools, Bell Foundation guidance, EAL banding and assessment tool, use of TAs to support EAL learners and additional resources
EAL cluster meetings are open to teachers, SENCos and all school staff and we would encourage you to attend to keep updated with the latest guidance on how to support multilingual children and how to develop and embed effective provision for EAL learners.
Contact the Specialist Advisory Teacher team on specialist-teacher.service@achievingforchildren.org.uk for a copy of the slide deck and to be included on future EAL cluster invitations.
