The premium must be used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils, in the 2024 to 2025 academic year, to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.

The premium must be spent in full by the 31 of July 2025.  

Digital Reporting Form

From July 2025, all schools must complete the digital reporting form.  This form outlines how the school has used its PE and sport premium and the impact it has had on achieving the aims and objectives of the funding.

The digital form is expected to go live during May or June 2025 and will remain open until 31 July 2025.  

Online Report

As part of the conditions of grant, by 31 July 2025, a school must publish on its website a report detailing how it has spent its funding allocation.  

You should NOT use your funding to:

• fund capital expenditure
• employ coaches or specialist teachers to cover PPA - this should be funded from your core staffing budgets
• teach the minimum requirements of the national curriculum  - apart from top-up swimming lessons after pupils’ completion of core lessons
