Early Years Teacher Programme

Early Years Teacher Programme

Institute of Education
Become an Early Years Teacher and make a difference to the lives of babies and young children.

Early Years Teacher Programme
Early Years Teachers will be specialists in early childhood development, trained to work with babies and young children from birth to five. They will be graduate leaders responsible for organising and leading high quality practice in early years settings.

The Early Years Teacher Programme is being offered by the Institute of Education from September 2013.
The Institute of Education is a consortium member of The Key Partnership: delivering EYTS in London and the South East. Through this consortium the Institute of Education is able to offer Teaching Agency funded and non-funded EYTS pathways.

The introduction of Early Years Teacher Status will build on the Early Years Professional Status programme to raise the status of the early years workforce. Early Years Teachers work in a wide range of settings across the children's workforce including full daycare, nursery and primary schools, Free Schools and academies, playgroups, out of school settings and Children's Centres as well as home based childcare such as childminding.
