Multiplication tables check: administration guidance
Introduction
The multiplication tables check (MTC) is statutory for all year 4 pupils registered at state - funded maintained schools, special schools and academies, including free schools, in England.
This guidance is for schools administering the MTC and expands on section 10 of the 2024 key stage 2 (KS2) assessment and reporting arrangements (ARA)1. It includes information to ensure that schools can:
- access the MTC service
- prepare administrators for check administration
- administer the check
- view and download results
- provide feedback on the MTC service
The Guidance:
